Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. While just a few hours away by air from the United States, many of Nicaragua's 6 million people live in poverty.
76% of the population lives on less than $2.00 per day, with nearly half living on less than $1.00 per day.
While materially poor, Nicaraguans are a warm and loving people with much to share with their North American neighbors. With the invitation to serve in this beautiful country, we look forward to the opportunity to grow in mutual respect and friendship with the people of this fascinating country. We invite you to join us on this journey!
