Having received the blessing of Austin Bishop Joe Vasquez to accept the invitation of Bishop Solórzano of the Diocese of Granada to serve as a deacon within his diocese, we begin the process of planning our move to Nicaragua. While we continue to be overjoyed by the opportunity to serve in a new place and learn from the friends we will meet in Nicaragua, let's face it... the process of moving itself is never fun! As we begin to look at moving to a country where over 75% of the population lives on less than $2 a day, we wonder how we have slowly accumulated so much stuff during our 10 years in College Station! In the kitchen the other day, I found 3 pizza cutters. We rarely eat pizza, and when we do we usually buy it from the local pizza shop already sliced. How and why do we own 3 pizza cutters!!!? As we rifle through the mundane, it helps to keep our focus on God and the excitement of what he has called us to do. Pray that we may become a holy family, equipped to serve God's people in a new place!
