While the medical outreach has been halted for the time-being due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to seek ways to help continue the mission in Nicaragua...
The Archdiocese of New Orleans has asked the Moran family to raise funds from their community to purchase a vehicle that can be donated to the Diocese of Granada. As Nicaragua is a developing country with poor infrastructure, a reliable vehicle that can handle the roads is essential to reach the most underserved areas. In the United States, there are thousands of retreat centers to which individuals and churches have access. However, as we have traveled around Nicaragua, we have met countless people who have never had a vacation or any time to get away from the struggles of daily life. The blessing of time away at a retreat center is unheard of for most Nicaraguans. In addition to working to alleviate suffering caused by poverty and promoting health, our long-term vision includes building a retreat center where Nicaraguans can go for spiritual renewal. We have established an endowment for this purpose. If you would like to help make this dream a reality and contribute towards the endowment, please click here.
The existing clinics organized by Christ the Healer provide for the ongoing medical needs of Nicaraguans. These include medical, dental and eye clinics designed to serve those in most need. To join us in improving the health and well being of our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua by funding these clinics, please click here.
As we prepare for the upcoming celebration of Our Savior's birth and share some of our recent experiences here in Nicaragua, we realize how much we have to be thankful for, beginning with each of you, our dear friends and family. Enjoy the update that doubles this year as the Moran Family Christmas Card!
